Bumblebee Shipping Container Project

I am sure many of you noticed the arrival of a huge shipping container at Eltham Primary school on Wednesday morning. Its delivery heralds the beginning of a Flagship Project that Eltham Primary School is proud to be a part of. Elaine Turpin and Regan Sailah are leading this exciting initiative.

The shipping container is one of two containers that was donated by APL Shipping Line. One container has gone to Vermont High School and we have one here at Eltham Primary School. The container at Vermont HS is going to be remodelled into a mobile medical unit and the container we have is going to be turned into an educational and research unit. Both containers will be shipped to India on the completion of this project.

Please visit Global Dialogue Foundation for PHOTOS OF THE CONTAINER.

Welcome To Eltham Primary

tradition of excellence

At Eltham Primary School we are committed to a philosophy that encourages care, compassion and team work. We are dedicated to each child developing confidence, self-respect, and a passion for discovery, learning, laughter and play. We love that our school is less that 400 children; it allows us all to share the learning journey with friends we know.

Our school is steeped in the tradition of excellence. Our superb sandstone building is positioned in a tranquil setting and  complementing this are new learning spaces including a performing and arts centre. Our new buildings are sympathetic to the landscape and combine a brilliant use of space with the heritage we all wish to preserve.

curriculum

The curriculum at the school is based on the philosophy that children learn best when their experiences at school are structured to take account of different learning styles. Some children learn best when tasks are ‘hands on’, others work well in groups or with a partner. We recognise that sometimes the children can be teachers too. Whilst literacy and numeracy are at the heart of our teaching we provide an innovative and broad curriculum from prep to grade 6.

community

We see ourselves as a community of learners; eager to improve and to do the best we can for ourselves and for others. Our Values underpin all that we do. These Values provide an environment where our children can be expressive, creative and engaged.

We welcome and encourage the support and partnership of parents. The recognition that we each have a unique role to play in guiding our children will ensure that Eltham Primary School continues to provide a safe supportive environment where play and fun is celebrated and where dreams are possibilities.

We welcome parents and carers to join us as we venture confidently and with pride into the future.
